Description Our client, a diverse contact engineering firm, is currently seeking a direct hire PCB Development Engineer in their NE Minneapolis suburb facility
PCB/CAD Design and development of complex customer products. Designs and documents PCB artwork, engineering drawings and associated documentation required for complex printed circuit board fabrication and assembly. Designs and documents electronic hardware for customer products and related electronics, to meet both the customers requirements and manufacturing requirements. Provides assistance to the Mechanical Design, PCB Design, Functional Test, and ICT test for product, test, and tooling development. Performs evaluation of quality measurements on electronic designs in accordance with a verification plan. Creates documentation related to an electronic design project. Contacts and works with hardware, software, and equipment vendors. Follows project plan and reports project status to leadership. Assists in the coordination of electronic hardware engineering strategies for client companies. Assists in project proposals and associated cost estimates. Participates in the development of advanced/new technologies. Participates in research and development for new design methods and tools. Works with customers to understand requirements regarding a product design. Communicates with customer technical personnel regarding technical issues. Works with Sustaining Engineering (product, process, test and quality) to develop products that leverage companies manufacturing and test processes. Communicates technical challenges and works with peers to create and implement solutions.
Skills Required: Design of high speed digital and analog based printed circuit boards for a diverse set of markets using Cadence and Mentor Graphics design tools. Must be Expert in Cadence Allegro and/or Mentor Graphics Expedition or PADs Expertise in constraint entry and constraint management. Familiar with Hyperlynx, HSPICE and other high speed simulation tools preferred. Familiar with DxDesigner, Cadence Concept and Orcad Capture. Mentor design tool knowledge is a plus. Expertise with MS Project, MS Word and MS Excel. Will demonstrate basic knowledge of software programming techniques. Will demonstrate strong problem solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions. Will demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Will demonstrate effective interpersonal skills. Will demonstrate analytical skills and basic troubleshooting of electronic circuits.
Experience Required: Expert knowledge of printed circuit board fabrication techniques. Expert knowledge of the PCB assembly process.
Education Required: Must have a 4-year Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent. Alternatively, must have a 2-year technical degree with 12+ years relevant experience.
