Chemical Process Engineer

Description The High Performance Liquid Chromatography Column Manufacturing Support group is looking for an experienced chemical engineer to support batch chemical manufacturing. The successful candidate will be expected to actively contribute to solutions for a broad range of manufacturing related challenges including transfer of products from R&D, quality, rate and cycle time improvements. This individual will work in a cross-functional environment relying on their teamwork, communication, and analytical problem solving skills to recommend, initiate, and implement process improvement as well as successfully support new product introduction.

Requirements QualificationsMinimum of 4 years experience in chemical process manufacturing Bachelors or Masters Degree in chemical engineering or chemistryDemonstrated ability to apply chemical process fundamentalsExtensive cross-functional team experience with demonstrated excellent teamwork skills Demonstrated success with process transfer and scale-up from R&DPrevious manufacturing experience in an ISO9000 environmentDemonstrated success improving process performance with respect to quality, rate, and yieldProven ability to find successful solutions to multiple problems of varying scope and complexityDemonstrated ability to work across multiple functions leading and managing projectsExcellent written and oral communication skillsDesired Qualifications:5 to 8 years of experienceExperience with batch chemical processingExperiences applying LEAN principles in a manufacturing environmentExperience with colloidal science - experience with colloidal silica a plus Experience working within a Six Sigma organization with Green Belt or Black Belt certification
