The Market Manager Industrial and Distribution will be responsible for the following areas:
 

Strategy:

1. This position will work closely with the Vice President, Sales and Product Managers to develop strategy and document comprehensive strategic plans for;

  •         Industrial OEM's

  •         Aftermarket 

  •         Purchased Bearings (product strategy)

     

     

    2. This position will lead and manage segment profitability and major strategic initiatives focused on accelerated growth in the industrial and aftermarket markets.

     

    3. This position will lead and manage Pricing and Contract Review

     

    Business Development:

    1. Responsible for Market Unit structural P&L, measured on a monthly basis for structural profit evolution in line with the two-year plan.

     

    2. This position will be responsible for continuously evaluating the customer, competitor and supplier landscape in search of the best way to leverage capabilities of the corporate parent

     

    3. This position will lead and drive the process of measurement and calibration of market share position across all markets and publish KPI's to drive improved performance in Quoting, Product Management and Market Management

     

    4. Coach Sales, Product Managers and Engineering as the business leader for these market segments

     

    Business Planning:

    1. Develop, document and drive the annual business planning process across the business.

     

    Note:

    The individual hired into this role will initially be an associate with The Timken Company and on January 1, 2010 will transfer to the newly

    formed Koyo Bearings USA LLC. 

  • Requirements

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Industrial Marketing, or Business and 12-15 years experience.
    • Masters Degree in Engineering, Industrial Marketing, or Business and 10-12 years experience.
    • Proven ability to run a business
    • Sales and marketing experience
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse functional parts of the organization
    • Be able to demonstrate proficiency in the following Timken competencies:

      • Systemic Thinking
      • Strategic Thinking
