Description Job Summary: The Vice President, Foundation will partner with the President on all leadership activities of the SJMC Foundation and supervise all core development services. Core development services will include, but not be limited to, annual giving programs, data management, grateful patient programs, special events, research, office management, major donor identification, cultivation, recognition and stewardship for the purpose of expanding the financial support for St. Joseph Medical Center, Towson. Job Duties:
  • Assures that the philosophy and mission of St. Joseph Medical Center is visible in the performance of duties.  Communicates and promotes a strong commitment to this mission.
  • Coordinates a program of major donor identification through data screening, cultivation and stewardship, including a program of regular, ongoing contact with all major donors.
  • In consultation with the Foundation President and St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors, determines funding priorities for major gift support.
  • Partners with the Foundation President in the implementation of all capital campaigns and major projects as assigned.
  • Partners with the Foundation President in the implementation of strategic planning for the St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation.
  • Partners with Foundation President, Marketing and Public Relations and other personnel to market and promote St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation.
  • Develops strategies for the management of core development services; involves Foundation President, St. Joseph Medical Center, Vice President for Business Development, Vice President Mission, Director of Community Outreach and St. Joseph Medical Center CEO in those strategies when appropriate.
  • Supervises Staff responsible for core development services of the St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation.
  • In conjunction with Foundation President, manages all activities of the St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors and all affiliate development committees.
  • In conjunction with the Foundation President assures compliance and maintenance of all Foundation policy and procedures, and Foundation bylaws.
  • Conducts bi-annual review of all board policies.
  • Oversees processes that maintain the integrity of the St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation database.
  • Oversees donor pledge reminder program.
  • Oversees research and record management
  • Oversees gift acknowledgement process.
  • Oversees the annual giving programs.
  • Oversees all development special events.
  • Oversees stewardship programs.
  • Coordinates major donor events, such as groundbreakings and dedications; cultivation events, including those hosted by the SJMC CEO; and other special events as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time by Foundation President.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Assists with providing fund raising advice to SJMC volunteer groups as requested.
PHYSICAL DEMAND REQUIREMENTS:
  •  Sedentary work:  Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
VISUAL ACUITY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Administrative work involves use of computer terminal, extensive reading and preparing and analyzing data.
INTELLECTUAL/EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  •  Ability to maintain both a high standard of courtesy and cooperation in dealing with co-workers, patients and visitors and satisfactory job performance despite the stress of a hospital work environment.
  • Ability to respond effectively to multiple and changing priorities.

Requirements

Education:

  •   Masters degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or Healthcare Management required.
Experience: 
  • Seven years experience in annual giving, special events and direct solicitation, data management, personnel management, strategic planning or related experience; e.g., sales, marketing, public relations.
  • CFRE designation, or CFRE eligible preferred
License/Certification:
  • Must have and maintain at all times, a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
