The Senior Application Developer designs, codes, and tests custom application code for Saks Fifth Avenue's saks.com store and its supporting systems, with particular emphasis on issues that require special insight into areas of complexity such as enterprise integration, concurrency, data management, or Saks-specific processes and legacy systems.

The Senior Developer will be expected to possess the independence and people skills necessary to work across IT functional teams and directly with business units in order to accomplish their tasks. Although these tasks will be prioritized and assigned at the management level, the Senior Developer will be expected to take ownership and show initiative in order to achieve resolution. The Senior Developer will be expected to build ad-hoc teams, sometimes reaching across organizational boundaries in order to do so, and to lead through influence rather than position power.

The Senior Developer will be expected to demonstrate the ability to clearly and effectively communicate with the leadership of both technical and non-technical teams.
