Civil Engineering Team Lead

Description Looking for an exciting position as a Civil Engineer Team Leader? We are looking for a motivated individual to join us as a Civil Engineer Team Leader in our Portland, Oregon office. This positions leads, motivates and manages a team of Civil Design Engineers and CAD Technicians to provide exceptional client service and product expertise to support sales and manufacture of civil site solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provides office leadership and establish team expectations
• Leads and motivates the team to support sales through excellent client service.
• Manages the staffing levels, work load leveling and performance of the team.
• Maintains the desired balance between technical and commercial aspects of the business.
• Cultivates a team environment
• Employee Development - skill sets to include technical expertise, commercial understanding, communication excellence
• Collaborates and partners consistently with peers to ensure consistency of process, training, and performance management.
• Leads projects, negotiations, and resolve project challenges as necessary
• Assists team to respond to customers regarding project specific inquiries and general industry questions.
• Establishes rapport with external engineer clients.
• Provides technical training and professional coaching to civil engineers and drafters.

Requirements Qualified candidates should have effective leadership skills and ability to motivate, develop, and direct people as required, project management experience. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, 2 to 5 year's relevant experience in similar industry (construction, industrial, capital goods or other products with a complex sales process), excellent analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple demands and shifting priorities, and the ability to build and maintain strong customer and team relationships.
