Supv Vascular Lab-Day Shift (24 hr accountability)

As directed, coordinates the activities of the personnel and operational activities of the Peripheral Vascular Laboratory at Harper Hospital. Ensures that prescribed peripheral and vascular procedures are performed according to department standards; coordinates the work of those involved in venous, carotid, arterial, and intra-cranial doppler testing and other related functions. Enforces and provides input into policy development from a professional, technical or procedural perspective. As directed, provides input into procedure/protocol development, ensures compliance and provides interpretation of procedural intent as requested. Monitors the quality and quantity of work flow to ensure work is completed and area is operating optimally. Initiates or recommends personnel actions such as hires, fires,
disciplines, etc. Completes performance appraisals. Develops daily, monthly, and/or yearly goals and measures for Laboratory; compiles periodic departmental performance data. Assists in developing and monitoring budget for assigned area. Performs the work of an Exercise Specialist, or other peripheral vascular functions, as workloads dictate. Supports the standards set forth in the DMC's Code of Conduct by creating an atmosphere of commitment to legal and ethical standards, and as directed, implementing external and internal audit recommendations. Monitors activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations JCAHO requirements, and DMC policies and procedures.

Non-Nursing/Patient Care: Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients serviced on assigned unit(s). Demonstrated knowledge includes principles of growth and development over each patient's life span. Provides the care needed as described in the department policies and procedures.

Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Science or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Two to three years of experience in peripheral vascular procedures with demonstrated supervisory capabilities.

Certification and/or Registry in Vascular Technology or Peripheral Vascular Technology within one year of hire.

JOB DETAILS: As Supervisor selected candidate will be accountable for 24 hours operation/emergency calls and future shift rotations/presence as necessary.
