Description
  • Both 1st and 2nd shift positions are needed. Specific shift hours are to be determined. Overtime will be frequent through the start up and seasonally to meet our customer’s needs.
  • Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be picked, moved, consolidated, or distributed
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code
  • Assembles customer orders from stock, stages orders and/or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department according to RF device or customer pick sheet, repacking stock as needed and requested by customer
  • Loads, unloads, moves, stacks and stages products and materials using a fork lift, clamp truck or other power equipment.  Operates the equipment in a safe and efficient manner following defined work methods and procedures
  • Maintains the clean and safe equipment, reporting service requests as needed
  • Assists in maintaining the security of the warehouse by conducting operations in a manner which promotes safety
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department
  • Double checks orders for exactness and neatness according to ISO 9002 procedures
  • Marks materials with identifying information
  • Opens bales, crates, and other containers
  • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed
  • Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards
  • Participates in customer rework projects as needed
  • Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications
  • Efficiently moves and loads product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers
  • Unloads inbound freight safely and moves products to storage locations.  Efficiently stacks and store the merchandise in the appropriate, designated area
  • Pulls and prepares product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded.  Performs picking duties in an efficient manner that meets both company and customer standards.
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties such as:  assisting with physical inventories, cycle counts, ensuring proper stock rotation, maintaining a clean, neat and orderly work area, informing supervisor of any unsafe or hazardous working conditions, and assisting in building cleanup as required

Other warehouse duties as required and assigned by supervisor

Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Past experience with LTL domestic and international shipping and quality auditing a strong plus
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages and quantities
  • Ability to frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to safely attain a forklift certification through OHL
  • Must be able to take direction from the Lead and/or Supervisor and follow the defined process
  • Familiarity with RF devices and picking/packing is highly desired
