Job Description:  OVERALL JOB PURPOSEWill have overall responsibility for ensuring accurate monthly financial reporting in a multi-company environment, distributing accurate and timely key financial indicator reports to various departments and business partners and ensuring that financial analysis requests from departments are appropriately prioritized, communicated and completed. This individual will also be a key contributor in achieving the overall mission, goals and objectives for the business units and effectively measuring performance against financial goals.. This includes cost to budget and financial analysis, strategic planning, budget development and internal controls systems; accounting and financial reporting; treasury and cash management; capital financing; contractual relations; and the development of sound financial accounting systems. MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field. Masters preferred.CPA preferred and ability to work with external auditors and various business unit management.5 – 10 years senior finance management experience within a multi entity healthcare environment, preferably managed care. Experience must include 3-5 years prior experience in a senior level position managing a finance department.Strong communication skills: ability to effectively interact with various department leaders and business partners.Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.Strategy and Planning: an ability to think ahead and plan over a 1 – 2 year time span.Management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.Technical skills in current accounting principles and experience in financial reporting and analysis, cash flow management, mergers and acquisitions.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for quality and continuous improvement within the job scope.Responsible for all actions/responsibilities as described in company controlled documentation for this position.Contributes to and supports the corporation’s quality initiatives by planning, communicating, and encouraging team and individual contributions toward the corporation’s quality improvement efforts.Promote and maintain the highest ethical standards in performing job functions and throughout the finance department.Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization’s fiscal function and performance.Participate in the development of the corporation’s plans and programs as a strategic partner. Function as a member of executive team and advise the CFO and President on financial matters.Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends in order to assist the CFO and CEO and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities.Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.Establish credibility throughout the organization and with the senior leaders as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the financial discipline. Maintain good knowledge of current and emerging financial accounting principles.Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets.Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization; i.e., evaluating of potential alliances, acquisitions, contract analysis, investments.Optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position.Develop reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanisms which includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.Be an advisor form the financial perspective on any contracts into which the company may enter.Evaluation of the finance division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis on opportunities (where possible) of individuals.Stay abreast of emerging trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance for the finance functions.OTHER JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms others duties and responsibilities as assigned.Willing to work overtime and on weekends, as needed.Meet with external groups as needed.WORKING CONDITIONSDuties are performed in primarily an office environment.Out of town Travel may be required.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSNo unusual requirements.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESContributes to a working environment that allows all employees equal opportunities for development, growth, and advancement.
