Overview:
Provides support in the areas of strategic analysis and planning, business intelligence, and financial evaluation of strategic initiatives. Responsibilities include ensuring functional excellence in the strategic planning process and assisting in the development of strategies that support ArvinMeritor's long-term growth and performance initiatives. The position also provides senior management and Business Units with Business Intelligence reports
Responsibilities:
* Conduct market, customer and competitor research to understand current and future trends that will impact the business. Undertake strategic analysis and interpretation of this information to develop alternative strategies and recommendations to management to exploit these opportunities or mitigate potential threats.
* Provide strategic and financial research & analysis for potential 'white space' and/or adjacency opportunities.
* Provide a center of expertise for Business Intelligence research, and a knowledge base for Business Units to draw on in preparing BSR's (Business Strategy Reviews), market and/or segment analysis presentations, and strategic business plans.
* Assist Corporate Development and Strategy team in reviewing potential acquisition candidates and in leading due diligence teams, and help to coordinate the process in a disciplined and efficient manner both internally and with third parties
* Work with the Corporate Development and Strategy team to research and evaluate strategic initiatives and assist business units in articulating associated strategies.
* Assist in evaluating the financial implications of strategic initiatives including, valuation, modeling, business plan preparation
* Contribute to the company's joint venture management process through ongoing support of that process' knowledge management activity.
* Continuously benchmark strategic planning and competitive analysis processes and develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
* MBA degree highly preferred particularly with a concentration in Corporate Finance or Strategic Marketing
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, or related field.
* At least 1 to 2 years of relevant experience.
* Effective oral and written communication skills for presentations and interaction with all levels of the organization.
* Strong analytical ability, strategic thinking and problem solving skills.
* Project management skills, with emphasis on identifying critical path and work dependencies
* Well developed financial analytical acumen
* Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
* Ability to prepare analyses, reports and presentations using various software packages including but not limited to MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.
* Ability to function in a changing environment and meet demanding scheduled deadlines.
* Entrepreneurial spirit to develop the position and the function beyond the job description and stated objectives.
