Sr. Application Engineer (UNIX/Linux Application Eng.)

Description Extremely hot requirement for a Sr. Application Engineer with Unix/Linux experience.

Experienced level UNIX/Linux Application engineer. Assigned to design and support high-availability 24/7 production systems of high complexity and risk.

Performs ongoing application support for production/live systems, by diagnosing and resolving issues, configuring, patching and installing custom developed and 3rd party package applications. Also will support upgrades and evaluating and recommending options for improving performance, maintainability and operability.

Will work with other senior technical staff and management teams in architecting technical solutions as needed and both participate and lead project teams.

" Performs complex technical work requiring demonstrated experience in the application of standard techniques and procedures in carrying out tasks. Utilizes extensive experience and knowledge to improve the existing processes and company operating procedures. Accomplishes tasks and projects within defined time lines and in a professional manner
" Installs, upgrades, configures, repairs and monitoring of high-availability 24/7 application service, third party appliances, and applications. Will be required to research, develop, and deploy automation scripts and tools to improve the teams overall efficiency
" Independently perform project tasks related to releases, troubleshooting and ad hoc application updates through resolution. Use the ticketing system to maintain thorough and accurate documentation for all production systems and work performed. Communicate technical issues within entire product release and ad hoc issues.
" Document operations and manage resources related to procedures including: installation, maintenance, restart / recovery, monitoring and troubleshooting. Performs ongoing revision and testing of establish procedures. o Document and / or assist in documenting application logic, process flows and configurations.
" Perform documentation and resource management of off-site equipment specifications, serial numbers, asset tags and installation locations.
