Requirements
Job Description:
Perform routine inspection on materials and parts. Process non conforming production line materials. Maintain necessary documentation. Perform and document first article inspection of prototype or new supplier qualification parts. Assist in Quality Control (QC) investigations.
SCOPE OF POSITION
QA Engineering Technician reports directly to the Senior Quality Technician and indirectly to the Quality Engineers for
technical support. Daily routine involves following of detailed inspection work instructions and routine use of good judgment and decision making skills. QA Engineering Technician will be required to work without guidance for up to 10 hours a day. Organization and follow through are necessary for this position. Mechanical aptitude is required for precision part inspection. Good communication skills (written and verbal) are necessary for interfacing with all other departments. Computer data entry and data searches are necessary abilities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Quality
1. Actively pursues continuous improvement and ease of doing business to meet or exceed customer needs and to further overall company goals and objectives.
2. Responsible for understanding Precor Safety Policy and practicing safe work habits on the job; attends regularly scheduled department Safety Meetings.
Inspection
1. Inspects production materials/parts items procured/manufactured to Precor Engineering drawings.
2. Processes non conforming materials/parts according to documented procedures.
3. Using excel spreadsheets, inputs data on all materials/parts received.
4. Performs first article inspections on incoming material.
5. Maintains quality records by vendor and part number.
6. Uses and maintains a wide variety of inspection tools, which would include calipers, height gages, micrometers, etc.
Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job will be considered.
EDUCATIONAL
1. High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
2. College level courses in Quality Control or mathematics a plus.
PROFESSIONAL
1. Three years of Quality Inspection experience required.
2. Must be able to use and understand mechanical inspection tools/gages.
3. Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings
4. Must have good mechanical aptitude with ability to use caliper, micrometer, height gage, optical CMM, contact CMM, bench center and other measuring tools.
5. Experience with Microsoft Access database programs
