Description
Devises, selects, sets up and operates mechanical, electro-mechanical, electro-hydraulic and electro-pneumatic systems and related equipment for purpose of testing liquid propellant rocket engines and solid propellant devices. We’re looking for an individual having a high degree of mechanical abilities and aptitude to setup and operate rocket engine tests, as well as, having additional skills such as welding, machining, and hazardous material handling experience.
30% - Operates and repairs vacuum and high-pressure liquid and gas systems.
30% - Maintains a high level of mechanical knowledge and expertise to include: high-pressure fittings, seals and shop tool operation.
20% - Maintains valves, pumps, and other mechanical equipment to include cooling towers, etc. Responsible for bending and flaring stainless steel tubing.
20% - Sets up and operates orbital welding equipment for stainless steel and titanium tubing. Works with minimal supervision and maintain a neat and orderly work area.
Requires High School Diploma and at least 4 years of experience in highly technical and mechanical environment. Prefer an individual who has the qualifications as a licensed Airframe & Power Plant mechanic or the necessary experience. Must be experienced with working with hazardous materials. Requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency, or other status as a U.S. Person. Note: Relocation is not available for this position.
