Job Overview

The Senior EHS Generalist is a corporate level position that ensures EHS compliance for the Company. This position provides support to the EHS Director, other service centers and business units within the Company. This consists of various EHS activities at the Site and Corporate level.



Ideal candidate will possess a strong work commitment, strong computer skills, the ability to understand technical data and the ability to effectively communicate through written and oral methods. Have a science related 4-year bachelor's degree with progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing setting or a combination of both experience and training. Limited travel is required.


Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain the Global EHS-MS which is built on the framework of (OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001). Assures SOPs and WI are up-to-date



    -Implements Corporate EHS programs throughout organization



    -To liaise, as appropriate, with all EHS regulators, vendors, customers, employees and management



    -Strives to provide a secure, safe/healthy workplace and an environmentally responsible operation



    -Works with site EHS coordinators to assure compliance with all EHS regulatory requirements



    -Environmental: Ensures all appropriate environmental permits, registrations, etc. are in place and up to date. Ensures all environmental reporting to agencies is completed and accurate. Assures sites are knowledgeable about their environmental obligations and requirements. Conducts hazardous waste assessments and works towards waste reduction. Assess hazardous waste disposal options. Performs and or arranges for sampling. Conducts chemical reviews for environmental regulatory compliance. Responsible for obtaining, analyzing, and reporting of environmental metrics.



    -Health: Conducts injury/illness investigations to ensure appropriate corrective actions have been implemented. Conducts medical management of injury/illness claims. Work with Worker's Compensation insurance company, and broker to control Workers' Compensation costs. Works with medical providers to assure appropriate medical treatment and cost control. Provides medical information related to Workers' Compensation hearings, may be required to testify. Manages employee return-to-work program. Responsible for Medical Records Management Program. Provides analysis of ergonomic issues and develops cost effective solutions in a pro-active role. Responsible for obtaining analysis and reporting of health metrics.



    -Safety: Conducts injury/illness investigations to ensure appropriate corrective actions. Works to correct safety issues. Conducts and or arrange for industrial hygiene sampling and maintains the IH program. Conducts chemical reviews health & safety concerns. Conducts Personal protective Equipment (PPE) Hazard Assessments for all PPE. Coordinate annual fire drills for corporate facilities. Responsible for obtaining, analysis and reporting of safety metrics

  • Requirements Requirements:

    -A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required for this position.

    -Experience of 5 years is required for this position assuming education requirements are met, EHS manufacturing experience of 3 or more years is required.

    -License, Registration or Certification in an EHS field preferred

    -A strong understanding of EHS regulations is necessary.

    -Advanced computer, verbal, written, decision making, and problem solving skills are required.

    -Employee must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team environment, which requires working with a variety of people within different levels of the organization.

    -All candidates must have legal authorization to permanently live and work in the United States without visa or employer sponsorship.
