Quad/Graphics is seeking an Ink Resin R&D Chemist for our CR/T location in Hartford. This candidate will be responsible for the formulation and manufacture of varnishes and dispersions, along with current raw material sourcing. This individual will be required to work with a large variety of chemicals, including solvents, acids, bases, inks, resins, pigments and powders. Regular responsibilities will include testing, material evaluation, repetitive measurements, data collection and writing technical reports. This role will include both hands on work as well as setting the direction for other technicians within the team.
Qualifications
Candidates must have at least 10 years of related experience and a BS degree in Chemistry or Engineering (with an emphasis in chemistry). This position also requires strong technical knowledge of chemistry, mathematics, and basic statistics preferably using mathematical tools such as linear fits, 2D, and 3D curve fits. Candidates also must be able to work in a team atmosphere as well as individually on projects. Qualified individuals should be able to quickly grasp new concepts, be enthusiastic toward science, be willing to learn new skills, and enjoy working with a variety of software programs. Proficiency in all MS Office applications is required.
