Description A client of Volt Workforce Solutions (a world leader in the staffing industry, boasting over 50 years of experience) is looking to hire Supplier Collaboration Engineer.

MUST HAVE SKILLS:
1) 20 years of demonstrated experience in any of the following field: heavy machining, heavy fabrications, castings, powertrain, complex light fabrications, gear manufacturing or forgings.

2) 4 year Engineering or Technical degree.

We have multiple positions open and have 3 locations where they want these candidates. The 3 locations are:
Aurora, IL (Zip Code 60504),
Decatur, IL (Zip Code 62521),
Peoria, IL (Zip Code 61601).
Candidate will be employed at one location so if you're interested in 2 locations then let me know your preference.
The Supplier Collaboration Engineer position is responsible for the technical development and support of new product programs, current projects and current production to meet quality, cost and delivery targets. This responsibility includes supplier process/plant layout, work sequence, fixtures/tools/equipment, material flow, and working with both design and the supplier base to execute product improvements for overall quality, manufacturability, and efficiency.

The position will be the key communicator for various Collaborative Product and Process Development (CPPD) teams, interface with multiple suppliers and Global Purchasing, work closely to ensure early supplier collaboration on design for manufacturability, assembly and cost as well as adherence to APQP guidelines. This individual will face many opportunities in attaining cost targets, project schedules and program priorities.
Requirements
  • This individual must have demonstrated ability to lead teams to goal completion.
  • The position will require a proven understanding and usage of GD&T, tool design, cost estimating, FMEA and project management.
  • This individual must have the ability to effectively communicate technical information with teams, as well as, employees in other units and suppliers.
  • This individual must be able to demonstrate the ability to implement and convince others of new ideas.
  • Desirable experience: APQP, 6 Sigma, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Quality and Negotiation skills.

  • Travel expectations may be as much as 50% depending on program requirements. Travel could be local or international. Ability to work well under pressure.
