Ensure the efficient operation of the Medical Staff Office by managing the secretarial functions of the Medical Staff Secretary, and coordinating daily activities to meet goals and objectives set by the Administrator, President of the Medical Staff, and Executive Director. Maintain physician-credentialed files to meet IDPH and JCAHO standards. Prepare files for monthly Medical Executive Committee meetings.
Responsibilities:
Supervise all functions of the Medical Staff Office, including: pre-applications, initial appointments, temporary privileges, reappointments, and database queries in relation to credentialing. Correspond with other organizations regarding former application/ membership status of physicians. Responsible for MSO functions as they relate to JACHO and IDPH standards.
- Communicate with physicians to keep their files current: physician problems, requests and vacation notices.
- Handle correspondence regarding medical staff activities and appointment status with physicians' offices.
- Ensure all licensure, legal documentation and special accreditations are current for physician credentialing
- Document minutes of Medical Executive committee meetings
- Answer inquiries concerning activities and operation of the department and personnel.
- Prepare administrative reports, statements and rosters.
- Draft and prepare special reports and analyses for review
- Establish, maintain and revise record keeping and filing systems.

Requirements
Requires computer proficiency and medical terminology. Should be familiar with Federal/State regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. A High School diploma is required with 3 - 5 years' experience in a hospital medical staff department preferred.
