Oversees business strategy, execution, personnel management and collaboration required by assigned area or business to attract, retain and grow value from the portfolio and is accountable for its profitability. Direct ongoing assessment of product portfolio with business partner customer needs and manage product portfolio lifecycle. Develop key success metrics for quality and effectiveness of related communications, brand promise, customer value and overall customer satisfaction. Monitor and maintain current knowledge of customer behavior and market and industry trends. Direct market, competitive and customer research as required developing, modifying or refining business, marketing and product development strategies. Lead and develop an effective team through communication, performance management, development plans and reward/recognition practices. Cultivate an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand.  Work with other areas within and outside of the Marketing organization, as well as externally as required, to ensure proper support for activities managed. Complete other responsibilities, as assigned. Direct the development and implementation of marketing strategies, plans, programs and products, including forecasting customer segment, strategic partnership, product segment and/or channel growth, up-sell, cross-sell and retention. Develop business cases and drive strategies supporting development and implementation of new products, initiatives, distribution channels, and brands and operating platforms. Direct activities to meet operational goals for cycle time, quality and performance to schedule. Develop and manage related budgets for activities managed. Ensure compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues. Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand. Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business related filed or equivalent experience, Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of eight years proven and progressive marketing, related experience, or equivalent
  • Minimum of five years management experience or equivalent
  • Proven quantitative, organizational, strategic thinking, decision-making, and managerial skills
  • Knowledge of the products offered in the financial services industry, as well as laws and regulations affecting their delivery
  • Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent mainframe software
