Requirements
The Registered Physical Therapists' function is to perform a thorough evaluation of patients assigned to them, and to establish goals and plan of care to meet the needs of said patients as outlined in the Rehabilitative Services Department's Policy and Procedures Manuals and to delegate responsibilities as permissible by Law in accordance with APTA guidelines and JCAHO requirements to Physical Therapy assistant and Rehab. Technicians.
Education:
1. Graduate from a school accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association with a
Bachelor's Degree of Science or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy.
Experience:
1. License or eligible for Licensure (temporary license in hand) as an Physical Therapist in the State of Florida-Chapter 486: "Physical Therapy Practice Act."
2. The individual must have a minimum of six months experience in Acute Care serving a population of adolescents, adults and geriatric cases.
Other Qualifications
- Must be able to assess anatomical structures of the disabled part of the body and formulate remedial action plans.
- Must be able to keep accurate records of the patient's treatment, reactions and assessment of progress
- Must possess the ability to coordinate patient care assignments to ensure continuity appropriate level of care.
- Must possess the ability to assist as needed in the clinical training of Physical Therapist, Physical Therapist Assistants from affiliated schools.
- Must hold current CPR and AIDs certification or ability to obtain it within 3 months.
- Is required to work a minimum of 1 weekend day per month
