A Content Solutions team is in need of a Technical Writer to write a variety of deliverables that include best practices or typical solutions users would encounter on the company's browser-based collaboration and document-management platform. There are a few gaps on a variety of topics that need to be filled-in, such as search, workflow, Designer and social collaboration solutions. Some of the content exists, but much of it will be gathered by SMEs. The Technical Writer will create content for an IT Pro audience on the company's online program and resource for technical information that is released weekly.

This is an estimated 1 year contract position through Volt Technical & Creative Communication - a division of a Fortune 1000 publicly traded Staffing Industry Leader, which is headquartered in Bothell, Washington. We are among the largest IT staffing companies in the US for contract/temporary and direct hire placements and support most of the top rated IT companies in the Pacific Northwest.

Required Skills for this Technical Writer position includes the following:

• Strong Technical Writing capabilities
  
• Experience writing for IT Professionals and Administrators
  
• Ability to write Enterprise Content (rather than content for small or medium businesses)
  
• Ability to set up test servers and work through complex IT scenarios
  
• Ability to ramp up quickly on new technology
  
• Experience writing planning, deployment and operations content
  
• Excellent collaboration and self-starter skills
  
• Ability to deal with ambiguity, research, and resolve issues in a complex environment
  
• Ability to integrate information about a feature and determine how to guide users to plan for implementing the feature

Preferred Skills:

• Experience writing for SharePoint
  
• SharePoint Administrator experience
  
• Experience gained working with the Redmond, WA based Software Giant
  
• Experience with DX Studio or DOC Studio
