We are also the only company in the United States to stabilize high-level radioactive waste.URS Washington Division is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to be based in our Aiken, SC office to work on the Savannah River Remediation Project. Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, analyze and maintain comprehensive, integrated project schedules and cost baselines based on thorough analysis of project requirements by applying advanced project controls and business system techniques to support DOE Orders.
  • Develop, implement, analyze and maintain critical path method logic diagrams that require critical path analysis for time and resource management of manpower, equipment or facilities.
  • Perform complex analysis and summarize data to validate project control parameters with consideration given to performance, reliability, maintainability and cost/schedule control criteria.
  • Evaluate major changes in procedures or system design, and communicate recommended solutions to management.
  • Assess potential cost and schedule impacts.
  • Coordinate and maintain cost/planning/schedule database operations, review and analyze project control data or results, and assist in preparation of management reports along with corresponding recommendations.
  • Participate in planning meetings as appropriate and gather data for database input.
  • Investigate all deviations from established cost and schedule baselines, apprise and make recommendations to management concerning corrective actions or workarounds required to meet established objectives.
  • Prepare and issue periodic status/critical items reports to management that highlight significant program issues and potential delays to project milestones and DOE financial objectives.
  • Develop, implement, analyze and maintain cost and schedule trend program, baseline change project and forecast process.
  • May lead review meetings or assume primary role in the responsibility for the scheduling portion of the division, department or project plan-of-the-day (POD) meeting.
  • Provide and disseminate guidance, instruction and rules for proper and effective planning and scheduling functions within the area assigned.WDCB01xwashgx
  • Requirements Minimum Experience/Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business / construction management / technical / engineering or a related area and at least 6 - 8 years of practical experience in the area of project controls, including both cost and schedule control OR
  • An Associate's degree and 10 - 12 years of practical experience would be considered equivalent OR
  • A high school diploma and 4-6 additional years of practical experience would also be considered equivalent to the higher degree requirement.
  • Primavera a plus
  • Working knowledge and understanding of project management and cost and schedule control at the tactical level is necessary, along with knowledge of operations, maintenance, or project startup and construction.
  • Knowledge of materials planning, time and cost estimating, as well as experience or aptitude in computers and computer project planning and controls software is required.
  • An understanding of the capabilities of computerized equipment for storing, compiling, manipulating, and retrieving schedule, materials or financial data is necessary.
  • US Citizenship is required for this position.
  • Candidates must be able to obtain a Department of Energy security clearance.
