Purpose:Our Ft Worth client is looking for 2 GIS Developers.

Plan, coordinate, prioritize, and execute the activities necessary to build the tools and utilities necessary to support GIS data used in safety critical systems. Design and develop new enterprise GIS solutions and enhancements to existing software applications. Provide expertise for the deployment of custom spatial analysis and validation tools. Perform documentation of all developed applications, tools, and utilities. Development is expected to follow traditional structured development life cycle principles. Perform research as needed to solve somewhat complex problems with little direction. Utilize Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server for version control and process guidance. Assist in the evolution of a maturing GIS data model. Support and promote these practices with field and office forces. Support field data collection activities from the office to maximize work efforts. Perform programming tasks by utilizing the ESRI ArcObjects API. Candidate may be required to complete and keep current with the annual COMPANY Maintenance of Way Rules Qualification. Comply with company policies, i.e., COMPANY's Equal Employment Policy, Safety Rules, applicable schedule agreements, FRA Standards and government regulations.
Qualifications:
College degree with an emphasis in GIS or a minimum of 5 years applied ArcObjects programming experience. Applicant must have experience in applications development with ArcObjects utilizing C#.NET and Microsoft SQL Server (2005/2008). Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Server and ARCIMS is required. Must be proficient in the use of 9.x and above ESRI software products. Candidates should be highly proficient with the use of ArcMap desktop software and have the ability to use the editing, validation, and analysis tools. A strong background using linear referencing is a must. Knowledge of field data collection methodologies including LiDAR is a plus. Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation server is helpful. Previous railroad experience is also a plus. Experience with GeoCue, Microstation, and TerraSolid would be a plus. Qualified applicants must demonstrate above average organizational skills and a desire to drive for results. Must be self-directed, motivated and have good interpersonal and communication skills. Must have the ability to communicate well both one-on-one and in groups. Must be safety conscious and able to support and contribute to a strong safety process.
