DuPont Crop Protection is seeking a highly motivated biologist to join its Global Product Support & Renewal (PS&R) Insecticide Biology team at the Stine-Haskell Research Center, Newark, DE.
 
The successful candidate will work on all aspects of the optimization and characterization of insect management technologies, including project planning, experimental design, execution, analysis, interpretation, and communication of results (oral and written). Individual implements and monitors safe working practices.
Travel will be necessary.
 
Specific Job Responsibilities:
The position involves the following specific responsibilities:
  • All aspects of work relating to the optimization and characterization of insect management technologies, including compound dilution, formulation, application, experimental design, implementation and execution.
  • Extensive laboratory, greenhouse, and field experience; often involves field applications and numerous biological observations.
  • Plant production and propagation as necessary to support research efforts.
  • Insect culture and production as necessary to support research projects
  • Data collection, analysis and report generation using a variety of software programs (familiarity with CPP data management systems a plus).
  • Write and present internal and external reports and summaries, which may include scientific manuscripts.
  • Work in cross-functionally with PS&R and development colleagues worldwide and with a variety of technical influencers from academia.
Requirements Minimum Requirements:
  • M.S. in entomology or closely related biological field with 1-2 years industrial research laboratory experience or B.S. with 10+ years of industrial research laboratory experience
  • At least 5 years experience with laboratory, greenhouse, and field research.
  • Experience in taking research projects from conception to completion, including analysis and interpretation of results using statistical methods. 
  • Proficient  working with all insect life forms (may need to culture insects)
  • Proficient working with biologically active chemistry and related insect management technologies, including laboratory, greenhouse, and field   trials.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills - including oral presentation for diverse audiences (both technical & non-scientific/technical) and written publications for different technical audiences.
  • Excellent computer skills required, including an understanding of MS windows operating system, NT server environments and typical (MS, Corel, Lotus Notes) office suite of applications that would be used for data collection analysis and report generation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to effectively work in a team environment as well as in an independent capacity.
  • Experience in working cross-functionally with colleagues in development, registration, marketing, and sales, and with various technical influencers.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • Experience working within multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams     
  • Individual with a career orientation and driven to grow and excel.
