Description

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assisting Civil Engineers develop designs and construction documents for levees, floodwalls, utilities, roadways, and bridges.
Duties will include preparing sketches, design models, and plan sets. Familiarity with the CAD standards of either of the following agencies is desirable: United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), and Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LaDOTD).
Candidate must have proficiency with Microstation V8 XM Edition and Bentley Inroads Suite XM Edition.
Candidate must be capable of following a quality control focused workflow (e.g. color coded markups and highlighting, taking ownership of documents worked on, understanding the design in order to participate in it development).
Other duties will include working with other disciplines to coordinate designs and plan sets, maintaining an orderly drawing file system, and maintaining office cad standards (e.g. symbology, cells, and InRoads styles and preferences).
Position is assigned to the Metairie office; however, on occasion the candidate will be required to report to the Baton Rouge office to meet with and coordinate with staff on work assignments.
Candidate must be willing to learn new skills and progress in responsibility.
Candidate must possess good communication and team work skills.
Requirements
Position requirements include, but are not limited to:
Minimum years of experience: 3+ (Civil Design)
Education required: HS Diploma or equivalent
Education preferred: AS Degree
Special considerations, specific technical experience, skills, etc.: Roadway Modeling using InRoads XM Edition.
This position does require travel. Travel amount isnegligible.
A valid driver's license and clean driving record is required for this position.
This position does not manage others.
