higher.
CERTIFIED
SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKER - REF#20092
School Social Worker candidates must hold a School Certification and a minimum of two years of school social work experience. This position will include coordination of our child study team, facilitation of IEPC's, student referrals, crisis intervention, and liaison to the Special Education Department. POSITION:
• K-12 Paraprofessionals REF#20091
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
• Assists in small group pupil instruction; tutors pupils at teacher’s request;
• Assists teacher in maintaining discipline and other functions.
• Assists with set up of classroom and prepares materials for specialized instructional units.
• Handles attendance reports and related clerical functions with the teacher.
• Assists in assembling/hanging materials on bulletin boards and keeping displays current.
• Operates standard school equipment such as laminator, copier, audiovisual, etc.
• May escort children to and from various rooms.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervises students
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• Sixty (60) credits from a College or University or
• Associates degree or higher
• Successfully completed one of the following: WorkKeys Test, MTTC Basic Skills, The ETS ParaPro Assessment
POSITION:
• School Social Worker REF#20092
SUMMARY: Provide a problem solving service to children and their families. Serves as a member of diagnostic teams and members of educational planning and placement committees and provides biological, psychological, and sociological assessment information.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned.
• Performs casework service with individual students to correct those personal, social or emotional maladjustment’s related to their educational and social progress.
• Coordinate or serve as a member of diagnostic teams and educational planning and placement committees and provide biological, psychological and sociological assessment information related to planning for children with adjustment problems.
• Consults and collaborates with other school personnel in gathering and giving information on a case, and in establishing and planning for respective roles in the modification of the student’s behavior.
• Performs casework service with parents as an integral part of the task of helping students, to increase the parents’ understanding, their constructive participation in resolving their child’s problems and their knowledge and use of appropriate resources available.
• Makes home visits for the purpose of gathering helpful information on a student’s background.
• Assists students directly toward adjustment to school.
• Works closely with school families and community agencies to meet the social, emotional, personal and familial needs of students experiencing life problems that put them at risk of academic failure.
• Maintains documentation files required for Title 1 program.
• Coordination of child study team.
• Facilitation of IEP’s
• Student referrals.
• Crisis intervention.
• Liaison to the Special Education Department.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES:
Supervises students.

• Master’s degree from a graduate school of social work program.
