Description

The Ryder Freight Brokerage Sales is responsible for selling Ryder's freight brokerage services to the shipper community.


SUMMARY
Build a portfolio of relationships with prospects that will open doors. Act as liaison between client, carrier, shipper, and receiver.  Obtain and negotiate rates with carriers. Manage the movements of goods.  Resolve issues that may occur with the load.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development:  Build a portfolio of clients by actively researching and seeking out prospects.  Perform business evaluations to qualify leads. Develop and manage a portfolio of business resulting in operating revenue of $200k-$1M.  

Account Management:  Develop carrier base and negotiated rates.  Manage the movement of client's goods, ensuring they are picked up and delivered on-time to the client's satisfaction. Accurately enter and maintain up-to-date information into load management system. Communicate at minimum twice a day with carrier during transport from pick-up to delivery.

Problem Resolution: Provide carrier compliance, root cause analysis, and EDI problem resolution.  Facilitate non-typical or specialized customer requests. Provide feedback and recommendations to drive continuous improvement at account and operational level.  

Manage Team: Identify qualified candidates that will build an effective team in conjunction with growth.  Mentor new hires in training and on-going operational activities.  Establish team goals and metrics. Ensure accountability of goals and metrics with team members.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor Degree preferred in business, logistics or marketing or minimum four (4) years of freight brokerage experience; a proven, successful track record as a Freight Broker and/or transportation Sales. Must possess excellent written and oral communication. Ability to work with multiple systems/software. Systems may include TM, Ryder On-line, PC Miler, and Microsoft Office. proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
