Description Newell Rubbermaid Inc. is a global marketer of consumer and commercial products with annual sales of approximately $6.5 billion and a powerful brand family including Sharpie, Paper Mate, Parker, Waterman, Rubbermaid, Calphalon, Little Tikes, Graco, Levolor, BernzOmatic, Vise-Grip, IRWIN and Lenox.
 
This position entails gaining a solid understanding of the writing instruments industry, our writing brands, our competitors, and consumer marketing. The Associate Brand Manager will then translate these insights into skills oriented to support our brands in achieving the market leadership in the segments in which we decide to compete. They will acquire the necessary training and experience to become a Brand Manager as well as provide assistance to Sr Brand Manager in the execution of approved plans and objectives for the GBU.
 
Essential Duties:
  • Lead development of packaging graphics, sales tools, communication, forecasting, NPD execution, digital marketing (website, social media, etc.), and event marketing (cause marketing, trade shows, etc.)
  • Assist in the execution and coordination of the annual marketing plans, promotions, forecasts, budgets, and P&L's.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of retail environment and of trade issues.
  • Manage tactical activities with agency and other partners
  • Assist in conducting competitive market analyses to formulate recommendations for an annual brand plan, including advertising and promotional strategies.
  • Demonstrate potential for sound creative judgment in evaluating promotional creative and copy
  • Analyze monthly/quarterly results in order to identify key issues, trends and opportunities.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of promotions and research.
  • Work with Sr Brand Manager and Channel Managers to develop programs for account-specific opportunities that contribute to business growth.    
  • Coordinate new product launch kits and promotional materials for distribution to the sales force and trade.
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements

Education:

BA degree in business administration preferably with a marketing emphasis.  MBA preferred.

 

Work Experience Requirements:

1-2 years of relevant brand marketing experience.

 

Technical Experience and other Requirements:

Strong project management skills

Solid analytical skills and acute attention to details

Must be a self -starter and self-motivated with a strong work ethic

Effective and concise written and oral communication. Strong writing skills are required.

 

Preferred Experience:

Familiarity with SAP

Knowledge of the commercial/contract stationery channel

Knowledge of the office products category

Preferred Qualifications:
● Consumer Products Industry Experience
