CREDIT ANALYST




 










Position Summary:


-- complete all cash flow and ratio analyses for business and consumer loans following bank credit policy and produce high quality credit documentations.
--  provide advice and counsel to business and consumer lenders regarding loan policy, structuring and bank lending requirements.


  




 


 


 


Core Responsibilities: 


 


 


 


??  Input of financial data to complete financial statement spreads and analysis.


??  Analysis of customer tax returns, both personal and all types of business returns.


??  Provides information on the difference between cash and accrual accounting on loan repayment.


??  Determines cash flow to assist with credit analysis and decisions.


??  Identifies areas which may impact future cash flow.


??  Provides analysis on the customer???s ability to service debt.


??  As part of analysis takes into account credit environment, trend analysis, cash cycles of a business.


??  Basic understanding of loan structuring, fundamental principles of seasonal, working capital, term debt and letters of credit.


??  Reconciling credit bureau reports with personal financial statements and tax returns.


??  Proactively establishes a monthly and quarterly calendar to ensure annual credit reviews are completed on time.  


 


 Credit Policy and Process Support


    


??  Provides daily assistance to business and consumer lenders with respect to credit policy process and lending tools.



  • Increase efficiencies by finding and implementing easy to use tools that assist business lenders with underwriting workflow.

  •  Assists in the identification of training needs and assists with developing training materials for improvement of lending skills, and identifies course for certification of lenders.

 


 


Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelors Degree finance or accounting.

  • Experience in tax return analysis, industry ratio analysis, and accounting and cash flow analysis. 

  •  Interpret key financial ratios (e.g. cash flow to debt service, debt-to-equity, etc.).

  • Obtain and interpret industry data (from sources such as Moody???s, Standard???s and Poor???s, Etc.)

  • General knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Knowledge of bank finance and credit process management 

  • Ability and desire to interact and contribute in a team environment.

  • Strong user capability with Microsoft Excel and Word.
