Wireless Network Engineer in the Quad Cities

Description Classification: Contract to Full Time

Compensation: $70000 to $85000 per year

We are currently recruiting for a contract to hire Network Engineer position in the Quad Cities. This individual will provide large-scale enterprise network support, network design methodologies and support using common Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, and should possess high proficiency with Cisco platforms, and LWAPP and controller-based wireless technologies. Other responsibilities of the position will include providing network design to create corporate wide standards, providing 802.11abgn Wireless design, implementation, and support, phone and on-site support for large-scale Cisco LANs, operation and functionality of networking protocols, specifically: working knowledge of Ethernet, working knowledge of L2 & L3 protocols: IEEE 802.3 (Ethernet), IEEE 802.11 (Wireless), IEEE 802.1Q, VLAN, IP, STP, OSPF, HSRP, Etherchannel, SNMP, and Protocol/traffic/packet analysis. Also, the individual in this position will explore new system solutions and equipment to create sales opportunities, understand network data cabling standards, develop and maintain knowledge of current and new network technologies and standards, have working knowledge of OSI networking model, and good customer service skills for both external and internal customers.

Requirements Candidates must have a driver's license, and 5+ years experience implementing or supporting a variety of modern LAN technologies. Strong knowledge and experience with LWAPP and controller-based wireless technologies are required.
CCNA, or a 2 year or 4 year degree in a computer/network related discipline is preferred.
