Immediate Need-Excellent Opportunity! Kelly Engineering is looking for a long term contract Principal Engineer to work for a leader in the Healthcare Industry, Baxter in Round Lake, IL. No relocation or sponsorship available for contract work.
Job Title: Principal Engineer
Displays standard engineering principles to resolve difficult problems, from conception to final design with team input. Plans, schedules and leads project assignments in the evaluation, selection and adaptation of various engineering techniques, procedures and criteria with minimal guidance Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1) With minimal guidance, schedules and leads a team through the planning and execution of a smaller project or defined piece of a larger project. This includes constructing detailed, accurate project schedules, interfacing with development groups and technical support groups. 2) Devises new approaches to complex problems through adaptations and modifications of standard technical principles. 3) Ability to prioritize multiple tasks. 4) Supervises/coordinates an engineer and/or technicians on assigned work. 5) The candidate will be expected to push the institutional knowledge in engineering fluid dyanamics within the group further. She/he will be expected to be comfortable charting an engineering research course during the assignment. 6) The candidate will be expected to function as the technical lead on small to medium size projects with supervision 7) The candidate will be expected to generate intellectual property/original research during the course of the assignment.
Qualifications:
1) A solid engineering foundation from accredited engineering departments, Ph.D. with 1-3 year of experience (preferred), M.S. with 3-5 years of experience, B.S. with 5-9 years of experience. 2) Ability to take on engineering assignments independently, formulate a plan of action and execute per the stated plan. Peer reviewed publications, patents and patent applications preferred. 3) Ability to mentor/influence fellow engineers and technologists in a constructive and collective way. 4) Advanced skills in data acquisition, experiment design and patet/literature search are required 5) Working/developing skills in experimental fluid dynamics (spray analysis, particle image velocimetry, rheommetry, high speed videography and image analysis) and engineering analysis (Fluent) are preferred
