Description POSITION SUMMARY: This position will assist in the implementation of system initiatives in recruiting and selecting, training, benefits and employee relations. Support corporate benefits and payroll programs. Assure compliance with FCC, EEO regulations and public files. Administer various human resources processes and procedures for the Chattanooga system.

MAJOR DUTIES:
  • Manage the recruiting process from requisition to hire ensuring that pre-employment hiring requirements are met including drug screening, background and reference checks along with job folder completion. Coordinate recruiting events such as job fairs, open houses and maintain career fair inventory.
  • Conduct new employee orientation to foster a positive work environment for new hires.
  • Adhere to EEO, FCC and OFCCP compliance mandates through accurate tracking of applicants and sourcing.
  • Enhance the employee experience by being accessible and responding to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs in a timely manner. Manage the processing of all personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, salary increases and terminations.
  • Administer leaves of absence, FMLA and disability claims including correspondence with employees, managers and third party administrators.
  • Assists supervisors with performance, attendance and disciplinary actions.
  • Work as a business partner with system management team and employees to accomplish business goals of the organization.
  • Advise and support management in resolving employee relations issues including coaching, counseling and discipline.
  • Employee assistance with courtesy accounts and employee referral bonus processing.
  • Maintain HR filing systems: Personnel files, Medical files, I9 files, etc. Assist in the coordination of employee activities, programs and events.
  • Serve as a backup for payroll and work closely with payroll regarding employment status, STD, FMLA and other forms of leave.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Punctual, regular and consistent attendance.
  • Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree or HR related work experience with a minimum of 2 years related experience
  • Working experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize effectively while working with tight deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across multiple functions and job levels.
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, interpersonal, communication and time management skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge in HR technical functions.
  • Maintain a valid current driver's license and automobile insurance. Maintain a quality driving record.
