OIL SPILL TECHNICIAN
CISPRI seeks a career-oriented individual to work at their facility in Nikiski, AK. CISPRI provides oil spill planning & response services in Cook Inlet & into the Gulf of Alaska. The job entails planning & training w/ spill response tactics & deployment & operation of spill response equipment.
Desired skill sets of the position include:
High School Diploma
Be able to complete the 40 hr HAZWOPER certification as a requirement of employment
Valid Drivers license
Ability to pass a drug test & background check
Ability to pass a physical & capacity test
Excellent written & oral communication skills
Working knowledge of oil spill response equipment
Proficiency in use of PC?s
Previous oil spill response experience preferred.
Essential responsibilities of the position include:
Must be company orientated w/ a willingness to work long hrs in a high stress environment
Due to type of business, must be flexible to alternations in work schedule
Heavy equipment operations experience preferred
Spills occur on open water & on land; situations which require sound judgement & personal fitness in a hazardous & high stress environment. CISPRI prefers applicants who are team players, company & safety orientated, self motivated, professional in dealing w/ others & committed to a days work for a days pay.
CISPRI is an equal opportunity, not-for-profit company w/ its response base in Nikiski, Alaska. Employee must permanently reside in the Kenai/Nikiski area.
Normal business hrs are 8am-4pm, M-F. In addition, employees are provided w/ cellular phones so as to be available 24hrs/ day for emergencies.
