VP Licensing and Industry Relations

Description The main focus of this role is to develop and execute business strategies related to obtaining content or the rights to content for audio and video use in commercial business environments, and to provide leadership to the members of the Licensing team as well as to the company as a whole.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Tactical:
•Manage and advise on trade association activities as they relate to the use of audio and video content in business
•Evaluate, monitor and advise on all international licensing efforts as they pertain to the use of audio and video content in business
•In concert with the legal department: Manage, advise, and coordinate (a) all legislation and litigation as it pertains to the use of audio and video content in business; (b) all contractual negotiations with performing rights organizations, major record labels, and major content rights holders of video; and (c) all contractual negotiations with existing and/or prospective Muzak partners providing distribution services of audio and video
•Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal functional areas and external constituents in order to proactively assist with internal and external communication of Muzak licensing status and issues
•Manage day to day operations of Muzak's label and publishing entities (Litt/Empirical)
•Develop and manage all music and video industry relations activities and identify new business opportunities.

Strategic:
•Develop domestic and international licensing strategy for Muzak Media Group
•Source royalty free content for music and video
•Work with Agency Services and Programming team leads to develop segment specific catalogs to support diverse customer requirements
•Develop new strategies that monetize Muzak Library (web audio, residential, download)
•Provide recommendations that support desire to distribute content across any network and any device.
