The Merchandising Manager will effectively provide leadership to a distributor dedicated sales force for a market to maximize sales and field marketing opportunities in their market. He/She will be responsible for sales activities, planning, budget analysis, distributor scorecard, and capability development

  • Lead / Manage all Sales Merchandising and POS / Marketing related functions relative to all PWS / SWS Merchandising divisions

  • Work with Marketing to facilitate communications and planning with PWS on all TOOL ordering processes by Quarter for the Fiscal year.

  • Manage Goal setting and week by week execution updates with PWS and SWS Merchandising Division Managers monthly. Set correction action plans in place as necessary to achieve goals. Attend monthly Pre-plan meetings to ensure proper goals established. Quotas are to be met or exceeded; anything less should be disappointing to you.

  • Ensure Execution of Demo’s across all chains is successful. Work collaboratively with Diageo Programming Manager on store execution lists and timing with US Concepts to promoted effectiveness and efficiencies on programs.

  • Lead By-Chain RVP / DM meetings for maximizing execution in the field with all programming on a monthly basis. Work with Diageo Program manager to identify where and when these opportunities exist.

  • Lead all National Account merchandising directives as it pertains to Sam’s, Wal-Mart, Costco, Rite Aid, CVS and Vons. Ensure flawless direction of communications and executions through the distributor sales force.

  • Salesperson / Merchandiser Work-with’s – Define weekly / monthly work with schedules with all merchandising divisions to maximize effectiveness in the field and WIN the War On Visibility.

     Lead education and implementation of IRI By Store Data with Sales force for leveraged fact based selling.

  • Develop effective working relationships with Key Indexing Accounts in the marketplace. Define Top 10 by Region, Top 10 by Chain, Top 150 Key indexing accounts, etc… list and ensure that DIAGEO is “making an impact” in your area.

  • POS Management – Maintain all POS with SWS / PWS for the Chains in your regions. Communicating and updating all rebate calendars, timing of POS shipments, allocation of quantities by division and distribution to satellite offices is key responsibility. Ensuring usage to key index periods is critical. Attending Monthly meetings with Division Manager is imperative.

  • Lead Survey Process / Sales Blitz Process across all merchandising divisions during key indexing periods.

  • Work with internal marketing to develop Sell Sheets for SWS / PWS Territory managers when opportunity exists.

  • PWS / SWS Team Meeting Participation – Attend DM / Area Manager Team meetings monthly. Define set schedule as bi-monthly, weekly, etc… to set expectations with distributor to review all programming and issues.

  • Manage / Update Tactical Budgets and T&E Monthly.

  • Assist Diageo Programming Manager during DABP process.

  • Define yourself as a Business partner with PWS, your retailers and your colleagues.

  • Operate your business and manage your reports with the highest degree of integrity. Attention to detail and timeliness of reporting is KEY.

    Experience: 
    College graduate with 5 plus years relevant experience that should include; Sales management experience with a major CPG company and/or 3-tier Distribution experience; Exposure and experience working with cross-functional teams; Experience working for beverage distributor; Experience calling on retailers - both single and multi unit.
