Description
Under the general direction of the Course Production Manager, this position's primary responsibilities focus on performing tasks to allow for the on-time delivery of all Walden University and partner courses. Specific responsibilities include reviewing new course offerings as well as updating and preparing existing courses for launch. This position is responsible copying master classrooms into live sections prior to each term start. Responsibilities also include assisting Walden University faculty and staff members with technical support in the online delivery platform. This position is also responsible for assisting Walden University faculty and staff members with technical support in the online delivery platform.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform technical course setup, populate platforms with content (adhering to templates), proof them for completeness, and consult on Instructional Design and best practices for online learning
Work with team to ensure that all courses are accurately prepared for launch in a timely manner
Build and maintain virtual classroom environments by uploading or modifying course content
Perform final course quality assurance (QA) and course review
Collaborate with faculty and PS&D staff to provide feedback on necessary changes to course content
Develop and manage relationships with faculty and faculty chairs to implement improvements to online courses and processes
Collaborate as part of a project team with other internal and external stakeholders, including Editorial, PS&D, Multimedia, Video Production, Project Management, and Course Management (student support), and with University faculty, as necessary to define processes and models
Provide Second Level Technical Support and generate course access accounts as necessary
Complete special projects or assignments as required
Requirements
Bachelor's degree required
Must be detail-oriented, organized, able to follow through on multi-step processes, and adept at multi-tasking
Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills
Must be able to act independently under general direction
Must work effectively as part of a team and be able to handle independent projects at the same time
Must possess technology skills and awareness as well as a willingness to troubleshoot user issues and solve problems
Must have an entrepreneurial mindset and adjust well to changing priorities and variable workloads
Experience with Instructional Design principles preferred
Experience creating courses and/or courseware in Blackboard, eCollege, and similar platforms in an academic setting is desired
Must possess a high degree of personal integrity and strong work ethic and be proficient in delivering sustained results
Knowledge of Desktop Tools and MS Office required
Knowledge of HTML and tools such as Dreamweaver desired
Must be ability to travel, as required
Bilingual English-Spanish language skills a plus
