Position Overview
This position will be instrumental in working with the business units and corporate staff to develop forward business strategies with particular focus on expanding ARM's presence in industrial markets and identifying and exploiting core competencies in product and market adjacencies ('white spaces').This role will have the primary responsibility to identify, analyze, and determine the best implementation routes for supporting the realization of strategic goals in such strategic initiatives The position provides consultation, direction and support in strategic business development to the heads of the business units, the Senior VP of Strategic Initiatives, and the COO. The position provides critical support and is a key partner to the business units and corporate staff in providing business and competitive intelligence generally but with particular emphasis on new areas of opportunity beyond ARM's current products and markets. This position provides functional excellence in strategic thinking to the corporation.
Specific Principal Accountabilities
* Principal responsibility for providing business intelligence to all stakeholders including business units, corporate senior management, and divisional senior management
* Intimate familiarity of the current strategic plans of the business units and the overarching corporate strategies
* Fully evaluate and articulate the core competencies of the business and how these can be leveraged into adjacencies
* Evaluation of long term business, market, demographic, social and environment trends that present opportunities (and threats) for ARM to utilize its core competencies or 'acquire' appropriate additional capabilities
* Identification, analysis, and development of specific plans 5 year plans to achieve strategic expansion into adjacent products and markets
* Direct financial evaluation of strategic and investment programs
* Provide leadership to business unit personnel in the areas of investment and operations analysis
* Interface effectively with the investment banking community to develop sources of information and analysis.
Qualifications
* Bachelors Degree in Business or Engineering; MBA preferred
* 6-8 years experience in a corporate business development setting, management consultancy , or corporate strategy
* M&A experience would be an asset
* Operational experience a plus
* International experience
