Description Location: Owego, NY: We are seeking an expert in the military wheeled vehicle Modeling and Simulation domain to lead and mentor a team of engineers in the emerging, high potential Ground Vehicle Systems (GVS) engineering organization. The individual must also be a “hands on” person and be able to actively engage at all levels in the detailed design and testing of these vehicles. We are seeking to expand our automotive technical leadership across several vehicle platforms and domain areas to more efficiently apply innovative solutions and advanced technologies to our GVS products. Our DoD customers include the US Marine Corps, the US Army and Special Forces. The specific need for this position is a Modeling and Simulation professional. The engineer will support development of advanced military truck systems. It is intended that these vehicle designs would utilize leading edge technology from an automotive perspective. Some of these technologies might include Torque vectored stability control, Active Dampening, Central Tire Inflation System, Automatic Suspension Control/leveling, or Adaptive Cruise Control. Modeling and Simulation skills include the ability to develop and organize a core competency team in order to accomplish a full spectrum of modeling & simulation activities through the full development cycle. Primary skills include Mobility Simulation and FEA. Armor/Threat Analysis and Signature Analysis would also be the responsibility of the M&S team. Signature Analysis includes IR, Visual, Thermal and Radar. The engineer will apply advanced technical principles, techniques, theories and concepts. The engineer will contribute to the development of new principles and theories. The engineer will work on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious.

Security Requirements: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Requirements Minimum requirements for this role will include a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) and 14 years of career experience. A minimum of 10 years experience in either the automotive or military ground vehicle industry is required. An in depth knowledge of and strong experience with both Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Mobility Simulation is required. Familiarity in other aspects of M&S is required. Fluency with ADAMS M&S software is required. Demonstrated “hands on” experience with the ability effectively engage at all levels in detailed design and testing activities is required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong organizational skills are required. The ability to travel domestically or internationally on an occasional basis is required.
