Cook Inlet Spill Prevention and Response, Inc. (CISPRI)

MECHANIC/SPILL TECH
CISPRI seeks a career-oriented individual to assist our team in providing oil spill response maintenance services to our Members in the Cook Inlet area & is inviting applications for the position of F/T Mechanic. The successful candidate must have a min. 5 yrs mechanical maintenance experience or an equivalent level of training. In either case, experience in Alaska is preferred. Applicants w/ mechanical certifications are preferred.
Desired skill sets of the position include:
Valid drivers license
Excellent written & oral communication skills
Working knowledge of oil spill response equipment & deployment tactics
Proficiency in use of PC?s
Must be company orientated w/ a willingness to work extended hrs in a challenging work environment
Due to type of business, must be flexible to alternations in work schedule
40 Hr HAZWOPER certification preferred
Minimum of 5 yrs of related mechanic experience
Essential responsibilities of the position include:
Maintain & repair all facility & response equipment in a manner that minimizes downtime
Perform preventative maintenance
Schedule all maintenance activities
Oversee special project & outside contractors
Complete associated paperwork Report to work at scheduled starting time
Follow all company rules & regulations
Follow direction of Supervisors
Willingness to work as a spill tech a certain percentage of the time.

CISPRI is an equal opportunity, not-for-profit company w/ its response base in Nikiski, Alaska. Employee must permanently reside in the Kenai/Nikiski area.
Normal business hrs are 8am-4pm, M-F. In addition, employees are provided w/ cellular phones so as to be available 24hrs/ day for emergencies.
CISPRI offers a competitive salary & comprehensive benefit package. Job offers to be contingent on a medical exam (including drug screening), a physical capacity test, & background investigation.
