Description Construction Engineer Job

Immediate need for a Nuclear Mechanical Rigging Construction or Senior Construction Engineer with Power and Nuclear Power Plant construction experience.. Located in the Mid-Western USA with a great company. Great opportunity for 4-6 months contract assignment in a beautiful location.

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Responsible for large projects, functions as a lead discipline engineer, coordinating related discipline activities and interfacing with other areas/disciplines on the jobsite
  • Responsible for small to medium-sized project, performing the duties of a lead engineer in an area, coordinating and directing a variety of disciplines, or performing the duties as a Project Field Engineer or Project Field Quality Control Engineer coordinating activities related to the operation of the assigned operating section of the jobsite

Requirements

  • Requires a BS in mechanical, civil or structural engineering or equivalent experience in Construction field
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years experience in the power and/or construction projects
  • Must have 5+ years rigging experience with Preferred experience of 2+ years in Power or Nuclear projects
  • Prefer primary Mechanical Engineering discipline with specific skills including Safety, Rigging Operations, Field Engineering of rigging plans and instructions
  • Requires experience in providing engineering assistance to superintendents, verifies materials, overview of contractors, equipment, workmanship, and assures results meet safety, quality, schedule and cost in regards to design requirements
  • Experience in developing rigging plans (medium lift, heavy lift, heavy haul, and critical) and perform engineering design calculations
  • Knowledge in reviewing and approving heavy haul, critical, and heavy lift rigging plans
  • Experience in project planning activities at various stages (related to lifting and transportation aspects)
  • Experience with field supervision and execution of the heavy haul and heavy lift operations, ensuring compliance with company Rigging Standard Work Process Procedures at the jobsite
  • Experience in coordinating and supervising subcontractor work at the jobsite and providing input in design and execution of modularization
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain unescorted access to a Nuclear Power Plant and be able to pass written and proficiency test relating to applicable procedures
