Description Job Responsibilities:
GENERAL SUMMARY: Performs basic engineering work associated with the analysis, design, and development of computer hardware, firmware, embedded systems, and/or operating systems; works under general supervision; performs additional duties as assigned.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Designs, develops, codes, tests, and debugs highly complex new software products or makes significant enhancements to existing software; develops and applies advanced methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced software applications and problems; resolves highly complex hardware/software compatibility and interface design considerations; conducts investigations and tests of considerable complexity; and directs the writing and updating of technical documentation such as users' manuals, system documentation, and training materials.

Required Education:
Bachelors' degree in electrical engineering or computer science. Master's degree is a plus. Typically requires 5-10 years experience. We prefer the candidates have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and the ability to successfully pass the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. Engineering Technology degrees will not be accepted. Must have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Required Work Experience:
1. Knowledge of teh principles, methods, and techniques involved in military-related systems engineering.

2. Knowledge of military hardware, software, equipment and systems.

3. Experience in analyzing, troubleshooting and developing repairs for complex software problems.

4. Experience with embedded, real-time, simulatin application programming: Unix/Linus Real-time, multi-thread, semaphores, mutes, shared memory, network, TCP/IP hardware interface

5. Ability to operate efficiently and effectively in a CMMI Level V certified organization.

Operating Systems: Solaris, UNIX, Linux, Windows

Database: MySQL, Oracle, SQL

Software Development/Process: CMMI, Clearcase, Make, FrameMaker, MS Office, MS Project requirements analysis, object oriented design, software automated testing
