Description Position Summary : The Prior Authorization Service Representative is responsible for receiving in-coming calls from members, pharmacies, etc. and providing professional phone assistance to all callers through the criteria-based prior authorization process. Further responsibilities include creating and faxing cases for prior authorization, maintaining complete, timely, and accurate documentation of all prior authorization requests, communicating to the physician’s office, pharmacies, etc. as needed, and transferring all authorized agents of the prescriber to the Prior Authorization Clinical Representatives, and all clinical questions and judgments to the PA Clinical pharmacists.
Requirements Qualifications : Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to maintain patient confidentiality; Demonstrated sense of urgency with assignments; Proficient computer skills and the ability to navigate in a Windows environment; Ability to follow directions, as well as multi-task; Ability to quickly learn new computer applications; Seeks ways to collaborate and reach consensus with peers; Actively works to build strong working relationships; Able to customize messages and delivery to broader audiences; Demonstrated problem-solving ability and attention to detail. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is required.

Education : High School diploma or equivalency required, Post High School or specialized training preferred.

Experience : Previous background in call center or related environment. Pharmacy technician experience required, preferably in a clinical area.
