Research efforts at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital are directed at understanding the molecular, genetic and chemical bases of catastrophic diseases in children. The Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting Shared Resource supports investigators with access to state-of-the-art equipment and expertise in all aspects of flow cytometry and cell sorting for the analysis and separation of cell populations stained with fluorescent compounds. The Flow Cytometry Specialist in the Genetics and Tumor Cell Biology Department as part of the Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting Shared Resource assists the principal investigator with the collection and analysis of data for specified research projects, performs flow cytometry experiments with minimal supervision, learns and develops new procedures, and manages specific, but limited, laboratory functions and trains laboratory personnel.
