Activity Director

Description Are you creative and energetic? Do you have a calling to work with seniors and the physically challenged? Hearts and Hands, Inc, a 10-year-old Alaska company, is looking for you! We provide a unique program of adult day care that melds traditional daycare activities with supervised outings in the community to provide social stimulation, cognitive development, and physical exercise. Applicants must have demonstrated ability to organize, coordinate, facilitate and direct programs for senior citizens as well as have a familiarity with the challenges that affect seniors. You must be able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing. Must have strong computer skills; preferably familiar with Macintosh systems and applications. Essential functions of the job: * Perform comprehensive assessments for each client to determine level of abilities combined with past and current interests. * Based on assessment, develop an individualized program of activity pursuits that are meaningful to the client's interests. * Initiate and evaluate individual client activity care plans. * Oversee production of monthly activity calendar and quarterly newsletter * Supervise Activity Facilitators and other Center staff * Arrange, coordinate, and monitor off-site activity trips
