This is an exciting and groundbreaking opportunity now open at HP. The position of Editor in Chief, HP Intranet has been newly created to lead the transformation of the HP employee portal to a more interactive, timely, strategically relevant and engaging source of news that is journalistic in tone for a global HP audience of 300,000. The goal is to dramatically increase the number of internal readers of the portal, to rally them around business goals and persuade them to engage in public discussions about, and to provide feedback on, stories, videos and news items.
The Editor in Chief will work with an editorial staff and editorial board to engage in enterprise journalism within and outside of the HP community: searching out and generating content and stories that are complex, as well as entertaining, novel and interactive. The person in this role will have experience in social media and be responsible for leveraging portal content for Facebook, Twitter and other new media outlets. This role requires close collaboration with decision makers in sales, marketing, public relations and technological positions both in Palo Alto and throughout the world, including Europe, the Asia-Pacific region and the Americas.
The Editor in Chief will be a person of sound judgment, experienced in corporate dynamics, communication thinking and planning. The role requires expert writing and editing skills, project management experience, experience managing outside agencies and knowledge of audiences and vehicles to advance HP's brand image, build awareness and generate demand for HP products and services.
The Editor in Chief will have strong business acumen and excellent collaboration skills. He or she will act as a key advisor to executive management in influencing the strategic direction of the business. The role requires planning, driving and measuring the success of communication strategies and programs.
