Immediate Need-Excellent Opportunity. Kelly Engineering is looking for a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to work on a long term contract for a leader in the Healthcare Industry, Baxter in Round Lake, IL. No Relocation or sponsorship is available for contract positions.
Sr Engineer ' Mechanical
Under direction of supervisor, contribute to the design, development or enhancement of new products and processes.
1) Perform standard engineering assignments which are typically a significant portion of a larger project. Select sound techniques to solve problems and make design recommendations under direction of supervisor. Assess results for application, validity and conformance to specifications. Recommend material and process specifications. 2) Develop mechanical fixtures and experimental set-ups required to execute engineering studies 3) Lead small study/task teams (made of technologists or fellow engineers) as needed to accomplish objectives, such as proof of concept assessment or study conclusion 4) Generate and document engineering designs, concepts and prototypes that will provide technological building block of existing or future product offerings. 4) Study and recommend techniques to improve existing products/processes. 5) Interface with internal/external packaging design/prototyping/production groups to internalize the industry know-how 6) With supervisor, formulate and recommend engineering policies and technical work in accordance with project and business objectives.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
1) An engineering bachelor of science (B.S.) degree with five years of experience or master of science (M.S.) degree with three years of experience 2) Demonstrated skills in engineering fundamentals: design, materials, fluid mechanics, strength of materials, experimental methods, engineering analysis 3) Ability to generate experimental plans, codify them in study protocols, execute the planned experiments and generate study reports. 4) Demonstrated evidence of application of engineering skills in small projects. 5) Skills in data acquisition (LabView), engineering design (Pro-E based), engineering analysis (Fluent or Ansys Mechanical) are preferred.
