Description

Position Summary


Responsible for management and facilitation of the annual training calendar, coordination of employee staffing, the performance management process for TCF Equipment Finance and its affiliates, and handle employee relations issues as needed.


Major Areas of Accountability    

 

A.Administer and coordinate the annual training calendar which includes establishment and management of the calendar, working with the management team to coordinate classroom training, collection of feedback to be used to enhance future sessions.  Facilitate selected courses.


B.Develop and execute needs assessments and testing procedures to identify training development needs.  Make recommendations for training based on data collected.


C.Coordinate and administer performance management efforts for TCF Equipment Finance and Winthrop Resources.  Assess on a regular basis for areas of improvement.  Work with Talent Management to tie in Talent Development and Strategic Imperatives.

 

D.   Focal point for staffing process and exiting employees.  Work with all levels of management to seamlessly on-board new employees.  Specific duties include, but are not limited to, conducting new hire orientation, feedback sessions, processing of appropriate paperwork, exit information,  the development of key metrics and on-going reporting.

 

E.Work with management to explore, develop, implement and manage various “system” enhancement to bring efficiencies and increased report tools to the department. Areas of focus include, but are not limited to, web-site functionality, on-line training, automated record retention and report development.

 

G.   Provides first line counsel to both managers and employees on developing and maintaining positive and effective working relationships.  Serves as an advisor to managers/supervisors regarding appropriate disciplinary action.  Works closely with Corporate HR Generalist to coordinate and transition issues as appropriate.

 

H.   Manage strategic projects as identified.


Requirements Minimum Qualifications


Education


Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience.


    Preferred:

  • Advanced degree in Organizational Development or similar field; SPHR/PHR designation


    Work Experience/Skills


    Required:

  • 3-5 years directly applicable experience (training & development, curriculum design, etc).

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Strong project management skills

  • Ability to effectively work with all levels within an organization

  • Demonstrated influence skills and leadership abilities

  • Solid communication abilities both written and verbal

  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
