POSITION IS IN THE PASCO, WA AREA
- Manages total, or defined, N-EP BASF businesses (Paper Chemicals both process and effect) and relationship with defined regional and / or Key Account customers(s).
- Meet yearly outlook for area by generating new sales and maximizing existing account opportunities.
- Prepare customer reports that show what competitive products are being used and other strategic information such as volumes, pricing, sales terms, etc.
- Communicates to business, support groups and global teams where
- applicable.
- Develops and facilitates relationship with customers at all levels within their organization.
- Travel is expected to fulfill the job requirements (2 nights/week estimated)
- Works independently with minimal supervision.
- Adhere to BASF safety, health and environmental guidelines
Requirements
1. Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience. BASF recognizes Institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.
2. A minimum of 5 years industry experience. Prior sales / customer related experience is preferred.
3. A sound working knowledge and understanding of chemical processes, products, and markets related to the Paper & Packaging Industry.
4. Paper coating & wet-end chemistry expertise.
5. Technical expertise necessary to introduce, sell, service and assist our customers in the use of BASF products.
6. Excellent written oral and communication skills. Adept at building relationships with multiple internal functions and with all levels at customers.
7. Incumbent must have strong initiative, be results oriented, and possess excellent influencing / impact skills.
8. Computer literate with high skill level in Microsoft products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word etc.)
9. Extensive knowledge of statistical process control and the ability to utilize this information in order to recommmend changes to customers' processes.
