Description Job Responsibilities

The Military OneSource education and career counselors provides education and career counseling to assist military spouses in reaching their education and career goals. The MOS Consultant conducts a comprehensive professional assessment of the user's need for education and career services, which can include but are not limited to, education counseling, career counseling, student financial or identifying appropriate educational resouces, licensure and certification information, projected salary/compensation by career field, and assistance with the Career Advancement Account application. MOS education and career counselors will also make appropriate referrals for additional work/life issues such as childcare, parenting, short-term problem resolution, legal, financial, relationships and communication, and other specialty and add-on services. Documents all cases into the MOS Case Management System. Monitors all research, referrals, and additional materials sent to users/customers. Based on business needs, may be asked to take on special projects as requested.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or Vocational Counseling or Career Counseling
  • A minimum of two (2) years post graduate related work experience
  • Knowledge and experience in core service areas of adult education and career counseling
  • Excellent customer service, communication, business and technical skills
  • Ability to be flexible, creative and multi-task in a fast-paced, high change environment

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Military spouse, family member, or experience in military community highly desirable
  • Call Center Experience
  • Knowledge of EAP industry
  • Strong technical experience with databases and case management systems
  • Six Sigma training, experience or exposure

    Work Schedule: 12:30 - 9:00 pm M-F

    Training Hours: 1-2 weeks of day time training 9 am - 5 pm ET
