Description
Position Title: HVAC/Refrigeration Technologist
 
Primary Function:  Provide Refrigeration / HVAC / Process Chiller support to the Circleville, OH manufacturing facilities.
 
The technician role has the primary responsibility to implement industrial/commercial HVAC/Refrigeration system maintenance tasks, in a safe, efficient and effective way.

Candidate will be responsible for the following: 
  • Troubleshoot, repair, install and maintain site HVAC/Refrigeration systems (air handlers, chillers, and process refrigeration units.)
  • Oversee Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) warranty and/or service work on site HVAC/Refrigeration equipment consistent with site safety/maintenance practices.
  • Identify, promote, and implement good service practices (including national and international standards) for selecting, applying, operating, and maintaining HVAC/Refrigeration systems.
  • Maintaining service and refrigerant inventory records for all applicable HVAC/Refrigeration equipment in compliance with EPA requirements.
  • Provide input on Engineering Design specifications for new/replacement HVAC/Refrigeration equipment to facilitate routine maintenance, enhance system reliability, and minimize refrigerant emissions.
  • Assist in developing maintenance procedures for HVAC/Refrigeration equipment.
  • Assist in commissioning and benchmarking performance of new equipment.
  • Network with corporate resources in Sourcing, Engineering, Environmental, Safety Health and Environment (SHE) to stay abreast of corporate best practices and requirements associated with the procurement, maintenance, and operations of HVAC/Refrigeration equipment.
  • Share knowledge and assist in developing other maintenance personnel in HVAC/Refrigeration system maintenance.
  • Stay current with technology and environmental requirements associated with the maintenance, repair, and operation of HVAC/Refrigeration equipment.
 
Requirements The ideal candidate will have experience and competency in the following areas:
 
  • Associates Degree in relevant technical field with 5 years experience or Commercial Refrigeration Service experience of not less than 7 years.
  • Possess a Universal Technician Certification from an EPA approved testing agency.
  • Read, understand, and utilize electrical schematic drawings to diagnose/troubleshoot and repair electrical control circuits and motor power circuits.
  • Knowledge of DDC (direct digital controls).
  • Computer skills to interface with equipment controls and perform routine training and communication tasks.
  • Experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and overhauling centrifugal, reciprocating, and screw compressor industrial refrigeration units preferred.
  • Experience maintaining low temperature industrial process screw chillers (Frick, FES, Vilter).
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE Standards related to Safety and Refrigerant Management (e.g. ANSI/ASHRAE 34-2007 Designation and Safety Classification of Refrigerants; ANSI/ASHRAE 147-2002 Reducing the release of Halogenated Refrigerants from Refrigerating and Air-conditioning Equipment and Systems; ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 15-2004, Safety Standard for Refrigeration Systems).
  • HVAC/Refrigeration system commissioning experience.
  • Ability to manage a substantial work load.
  • Interpersonal skills for working in a multi-function team environment.
  • Networking capability to effectively leverage other corporate and external resources to provide timely, cost effective solutions.
  • Computer and PC literate - Working knowledge of using E-mail, the Internet, and Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Good oral and written communication skills necessary to sell ideas.
 
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
 
The job duties will include stooping, standing, climbing and frequent lifting. Position may require employees to work in a 24/7 rotational schedule. This schedule will include holidays, and weekends; over-time may be required.
