Description of a School Bus Driver:    

 

There is not a more important position in our company than that of Bus Driver.  This job is way more than just pointing a bus in the right direction, because great School Bus Drivers have a pocket full of tissues for runny noses, a bushel full of smiles for kids who are having bad days, and hold an undying commitment to the safe and secure travel of the most precious cargo in the world. 

 

Responsibilities of a School Bus Driver include: 

Our School Bus Drivers are responsible for understanding the importance of their job, and the necessity of doing it excellently—every day.  A School Bus Driver is responsible for picking up and delivering several hundred children during a normal shift within a tight time-window.  They are responsible for following all traffic and corporate regulations to the letter, and to be cool, calm and collected in all situations.  Our School Bus Drivers are also complete several pre & post shift activities to ensure a safe, neat journey for our guests.

Requirements
  •  The ideal candidate must love bad knock-knock jokes, appreciate broken science fair projects, and have the ability to help kids with band instruments that are twice their size
  • Trust is the most important contract we have with parents, and school districts, so felony convictions or incarcerations are disqualifying events
  • Nothing is more important than the safety & security of our passengers, so any DUI / DWI, or leaving-the-scene citations are disqualifying as well
  • Three or more moving violations in the past three years will also preclude you from driving one of our busses
  • Background & drug tests are mandatory
  • A genuine, caring attitude toward children
